Banana Puff Pastry Cake
Wait for the puff pastry sheets to soften slightly. Cut the softened puff pastry sheets in half. Arrange them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. To prevent the puff pastry from rising too much, prick holes in them with a fork. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes until lightly golden brown.
While the puff pastries are in the oven, add milk, sugar, flour, and starch to a saucepan and cook, stirring constantly. Once the custard thickens, add the vanilla and stir again. After removing from heat, stir occasionally to prevent a skin from forming.
Place 1 tablespoon of custard on top of the baked puff pastry sheets and add 2-3 slices of banana. Cover with another piece of puff pastry. Spread 1 tablespoon of custard on top of your second layer of puff pastry and arrange on a serving plate. Prepare all your puff pastries in this manner.
You can prepare your puff pastry cake with any fruits you like.
Serving Suggestion: You can decorate the top of your puff pastry cake by sifting powdered sugar through a sieve.
