Who Can Benefit from Unemployment Insurance
Individuals who lose their jobs through no fault or fault of their own can benefit from unemployment insurance. However, unemployment insurance premiums must have been paid to benefit from unemployment insurance. To explain more clearly, those who wish to benefit from unemployment insurance must have paid unemployment insurance premiums for at least 600 days within the last three years. In addition, unemployment insurance premiums must have been paid in full for the last 120 days prior to the termination date. The employee who loses their job must personally apply to the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) with their termination document. The termination document must be obtained from the relevant institution that terminated the employee's employment. An unemployment benefit is paid to individuals who meet the unemployment insurance conditions. This benefit is 50% of the employee's last four months' salary.
